The Barefoot Otters formed in 2015, when C. J. Mallonee (vocals and guitar) and Tom Jackson (guitar) met at a benefit show hosted by mutual friend and local mainstay, Clint Ackerman. Deciding that they had mutual musical goals, they quickly recruited Josh Gray to add his vocals and bass work to the group. In early 2016, they released their first demo, which featured the vocals and drums of Brooke Hall. For 2016, Shawn Evans has served as their live and studio drummer.
